IDT releases highly integrated power management solutions for enterprise solid state drives and computing applications

     IDT Corporation announced the launch of a new multichannel power management IC (PMIC) optimized for enterprise solid State Drives (ESSDs) and designed to accelerate time to market and revenue. The P8300 is a flexible and highly programmable power management IC that is ideal for a wide range of data center, enterprise, and high-performance computing applications.

     The P8300 enables power management subsystems to be reused across multiple protocols, such as SAS, SATA, and PCIe, and in different form factors, thereby reducing time-to-market. The innovative design of the P8300 enables a proven and efficient backup power system whose stability was also proven in the first generation of SSDS.

     "The P8300 power management IC achieves the ideal balance of cost and performance," said Sean Fan, vice president and general manager of IDT's Interface and Connectivity division. "The new devices offer significant advantages to companies developing products in computation-intensive areas such as data centers, enterprise computing and high-performance computing."

     The introduction of the P8300 further expands IDT's footprint in applications such as enterprise computing and storage, where it also offers solutions for temperature detection, timing, memory interfaces and PCIe connectivity.
