RECOM introduces Wide input DC/DC converters with high specification medical grade certification

     The new cost-effective REM60-W series is available in 9-36VDC and 18-75VDC input ranges, with a choice of regulated single or dual outputs: 5V, 5.1V, 12V, 15V, 24V, +/-12V and +/-15V. With a rated output power of 60W and a package size of only 2.3 "x 1.5" x 0.5 "(57.9 x 36.8 x 12.7 mm), it achieves industry-leading power density, while peak efficiency exceeds 90%, operating at ambient temperatures up to 105°C when derated, and slightly lower operating temperatures when air is cooled.

     The REM60-W series operates at 250VAC and features 2 x MOPP Medical-grade enhanced insulation with an isolation voltage of 5kVAC/1min. Input to output creepage distance and electrical clearance of more than 8 mm, leakage current up to 4.5µA, suitable for B, BF and CF class medical applications.

     Medical safety certifications include IEC/EN 60601-1 3rd Edition, ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1 and CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1:14, which cover the global market. The series also meets the EN 60601-1-2 EMI immunity standard for medical devices. Other certifications include IEC/UL/EN 62368-1 for the IT and multimedia markets, as well as the EN55032 Class A EMC standard, or the addition of a simple external filter to meet Class B specifications. The module can operate at altitudes of up to 5000 m and level 2 pollution (PD2). At MIL-HDBK-217F (GB/25°C), well grounded test conditions, MTBF exceeds 1Mhrs.

     The module includes on/off control, remote sensing and output voltage fine-tuning, and provides full protection against output overload, short circuit, input undervoltage and overtemperature. Low no-load and standby current and high light-load efficiency make it ideal for energy-sensitive applications. The REM60-W is ideal for medical and critical industrial applications as the series boasts the highest level of safety certification as well as market-leading performance and high power density.
