STMicroelectronics delivers a feature-rich development ecosystem

     STMicroelectronics releases a feature-rich development ecosystem (including board and software support),the STM32F469/479 has the industry's highest ARM® Cortex-M4 processor performance, achieved 608 points in CoreMark testing at 180MHz, and has up to 2MB of dual-bank flash memory and 384KB of random access memory (RAM). Supports the most advanced Internet of Things (IoT) and wearable applications. As the world's first microcontroller to integrate advanced MIPI-DSI controllers, combined with ST's unique Chrom-ART Accelerator™ adaptive real-time acceleration technology, this product line enables everyday electronics to have a graphical user interface like a smartphone.

     The new product also integrates Flexible Memory Controller (FMC), four-wire Quad-SPI serial dual-zone flash memory and more communication peripherals. Including Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC), SDMMC interface, USB and camera interface, will help device manufacturers design more feature-rich consumer electronics, industrial control and medical devices.

     A feature-rich development ecosystem helps designers tap into the full capabilities of new microcontrollers. In addition to the high-end evaluation board, the STM32469I-EVAL and STM32479I-EVAL with additional encryption capabilities, and the STM32F469I-DISCO Discovery Kit with ARM mbed support are equipped with WVGA MIPI-DSI color touch screens. Make it easy for designers to use this advanced and efficient serial display interface technology. All boards are equipped with embedded demonstration software to demonstrate the capabilities of the microcontroller and the advanced graphics performance achieved in conjunction with the high-resolution display.

     The Discovery suite's powerful features include 16MB QSPI flash and 16MB SDRAM memory expansion slots, USB full speed OTG pins, audio codec, audio line-out, microSD slots, and three onboard MEMS microphones. Help developers explore how to focus beam forming and reduce noise. In addition, there are pins on the board that connect to all the I/O ports of the microcontroller, and the on-board Arduino interface allows developers to extend the board's capabilities, choosing from the various existing STM32 Nucleo expansion boards and other Arduino Shield expansion boards to easily develop the most advanced embedded applications.

     The STM32 Cube embedded package provides peripheral drivers, software libraries, protocol stacks, and numerous examples to simplify and speed up application development. The accompanying software tool STM32CubeMX simplifies the configuration and initialization of microcontrollers, ensuring that getting started with development is simple and easy. Various advanced graphics firmware libraries take advantage of the STM32F469/479 integrated graphics acceleration to help developers develop advanced graphical user interfaces (including the user interface HMI). A number of ides (Integrated Development Environments) exist to support the STM32F469/479 product line, including IAR EWARM, Keil MDK-ARM and the new free AC6 System workbench for STM32.
