STMicroelectronics introduces new Graphical User Interface configurator
STMicroelectronics' newly released STM8CubeMX g graphical interface configurator makes product design based on the popular 8-bit STM8 microcontroller faster. The STM8CubeMX supports all major low-power automotive 8-bit microcontrollers from ST. The new free development tool helps designers choose from the STM8 family of products that best suit their application needs. Designers can also develop applications directly on ST's STM8 development board.
First, the tool is configured as the microcontroller on the selected board is configured, and then the STM8CubeMX provides several graphical interface tools to help complete the basic configuration of the selected microcontroller. These configuration tools include automatic conflict resolution pin configurators, dynamic validation clock tree configurators, and power sequencers and power consumption calculators. Once the configuration is complete, the tool generates a configuration report that shows whether the designer's requirements have been met.
From iot hardware and smart sensors, to high-performance automotive microcontrollers, to a wide range of mass market electronics, STM8 microcontrollers are used in a wide range of applications. The STM8 microcontroller family consists of more than 125 products, ranging from the ultra-low power (STM8L) AEC-Q100 certified (STM8AF/AL) products to the mainstream STM8S Value, basic and enhanced series.
The STM8 microcontroller is the most cost-effective solution to help designers meet the size and power requirements of application design, with core processing performance up to 20MIPS/24MHz, built-in flash memory up to 128KB and 6KB RAM. Peripheral interfaces include ADCs, Dacs, comparators, timers, LCD drivers, DMA, AES encryption and digital interfaces, as well as market-specific functionalities, for example, automotive microcontrollers offer LIN/CAN interfaces with package pins ranging from 20 to 80 pins.
