STMicroelectronics introduces the new STM32 microcontroller with powerful graphics processing performance

     STMicroelectronics, the world's leading semiconductor supplier across multiple electronic applications, introduces the new STM32F767/769 microcontroller (MCU) with a rich memory, graphics processor and communication peripherals. Extend the power and energy efficiency of the ARM® Cortex®-M7 processor to a wider range of applications, such as portable or wearable consumer electronics, smart building and industrial controllers, smart home appliances, personal medical devices, and health point medical devices.

     The latest addition to the STM32 family of microcontrollers is based on the 216MHz/462DMIPS/1082 EEMBC® CoreMark® Cortex-M7 core with built-in double precision floating point unit and DSP instruction support. The integration of dual-zone flash memory with a capacity of up to 2MB, Chrom-ART accelerator with powerful graphics processing, hardware JPEG accelerator, TFT-LCD display controller and MIPI-DSI master controller especially helps simplify the design of high-performance controls and user interfaces.

     Rich on-chip resources for graphics application can benefit far more than other rich graphics and rendering function of microcontroller, and powerful audio, including audio I2S interface, serial interface (SAI, Serial Audio Interface), audio PLL, and digital filters for Sigma-Delta modulators (DFSDM, DFSDM, DFSDM) for connecting digital microphones or external Sigma-Delta analog-to-digital converters.      The STM32F767/769 integrates 512KB of RAM and 16KB of large-capacity data and instruction cache, while the Flexible Memory Controller (FMC) and four-wire SPI interface simplify off-chip storage capacity expansion, making application software code virtually unlimited.      The STM32F767/769 expands the performance potential of the STM32F7 family to provide an encryption /hash engine (STM32F777/779 product) for applications that focus on data security. The new product has the same graphics processing and storage capabilities as the STM32F469/479 Cortex-M4, providing users with a shortcut to upgrade to the Cortex-M7 microcontroller. The related development ecosystem helps developers achieve high graphics performance for applications such as human-machine interfaces.
