Vishay introduces ultra-small form factor ceramic safety gauge Y1 capacitors with high reliability

     Vishay Intertechnology has announced the launch of a new series of Compact, pulse-resistant 10kV safety VY1 Compact. Vishay BCcomponents VY1 Compact series devices with diameters as small as 7.5mm for X1(760VAC) and Y1(500VAC) meet IEC 60384-14.3 3rd Edition requirements.

     Vishay's series of devices uses Y5U ceramic media for RFI and AC line filtering applications in power supplies, smart meters, white goods and consumer electronics. The capacitance of the capacitor is from 470pF to 4700pF, the tolerance is ±20%, and the operating temperature range is -40℃ to +125℃.

     This series of products is composed of copper electrode ceramic tiles and tinned copper-covered steel wire with a diameter of 0.6mm. The VY1 Compact series capacitors offer vertical bent or straight leads with a line distance of 10mm or 12.5mm. The range is RoHS compliant, halogen-free and packaged in an epoxy resin that meets the UL 94 V-0 fire rating.
