Xilinx Kintex-7 FPGA embedded suite increases FPGA soft processor system productivity and programmable system integration capability

     Xilinx announced the Kintex-7 FPGA embedded suite, providing a ready-to-use development platform for system designers to quickly and easily integrate programmable systems, enabling processors to control diverse data streams for applications such as video and Ethernet switching, motor control, and medical imaging. As a Xylinx 7 series FPGA, Kintex-7 is highly flexible to different standards, parallel processing and customizable interfaces, but also offers integrated features such as high-performance DSP, memory, analog and I/O interfaces to help designers more easily embed soft processors. To control the flow of data and manage the large number of interfaces in the system.

     Raj Seelam, senior marketing manager for Xilinx's Target Design Platform, said: "With the Kintex-7 FPGA embedded target reference design in this suite, designers can reduce development time and use this as a cornerstone to build custom embedded systems. "The scalable and optimized architecture of the Kintex-7 FPGA enables customers to migrate designs between different Xylinx 28 nm 7 series devices, helping to maximize the use of existing designs and reduce time to market."
