A console manager that provides smart out of band services for very large enterprises

Digi International-owned company Opengear, a provider of security and smart out-of-band management solutions, today announced the launch of two new 10GbE models: CM8196-10G and CM8148-10G to extend its CM8100 range. The two new products support large-scale deployment of smart out-of-band management to reduce integration and maintenance costs. Like other products in the CM8100 family, the new product ensures resilient remote access through enhanced security and automation.

The Opengear CM8100-10G console manager family provides out-of-band access to routers, switches, PDUs, firewalls, other serial consoles, and large-scale virtualized networking capabilities. The CM8196-10G offers 96 serial ports at the 2RU (rack unit) contour size, while the CM8148-10G has the standard 1RU height and offers 48 serial ports. These products are trusted by many leading megacities by reducing the overhead and complexity of equipment management in large data centers.
