A89506 Full Bridge door drive PWM control

     Allegro's A89506 Full Bridge Gate driver is designed for pulse width modulation (PWM) control of DC motors. Capable of running 50 V, they provide gate drives for all n-channel external MOSFET Bridges to reduce electromagnetic interference. The fault output notifies the microprocessor of the bridge short circuit or overcurrent event.

     The input terminal controls the speed and direction of the DC motor through externally imposed PWM control signals. Internal synchronous rectifier control circuit reduces power consumption during PWM operation. Internal circuit protection includes V(DS) protection, thermal shutdown with lag, V(BB) undervoltage monitoring and cross current protection.

     The A89506 is an effective alternative to relays and closure systems, and can also be used to drive DC motors and actuators in conventional, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs). They are ideal for applications such as window and door actuators, electric car charger locks, electronic parking brakes, and folding mirrors. Their solid-state design also makes them ideal for battery-powered applications, including brushless DC motors, such as building automation and robotics, improving reliability and battery life while promoting a smaller design footprint.
