Ams introduces scalable high-voltage CMOS transistors

     Ams Semiconductor, a leading global supplier of high-performance analog ics and sensors, announced the further expansion of its industry-leading 0.35µm high-voltage CMOS professional process platform. The advanced "H35" process based on this high-compression platform enables AMS to cover a complete set of voltage-scalable transistors that effectively save space and improve device performance.

     The new voltage scalable high-voltage NMOS and PMOS transistor devices are optimized for a wide range of drain-source voltages from 20V to 100V, significantly reducing on-resistance and thus saving device space. In power management applications, replacing fixed 50V transistors with optimized 30V NMOS transistors can save nearly half of the space; Compared to standard 120V NMOS transistors, the optimized 60V NMOS device can save 22% of the space. Foundry customers developing complex high-voltage analog/mixed-signal applications such as large driver and switching ics can immediately include more bare chips in a single wafer.

     These space-saving devices are suitable for a range of applications such as MEMS drives, motor drives, switches, power management ics for automotive, medical and industrial applications. As a result, AMS Foundry became the first company in the world to provide voltage-scalable transistors to foundry customers. Ams' solutions are fully certified in the automotive (ISO/TS 16949) and medical (ISO 13485) industries to provide customers with high quality products and services that meet their stringent requirements.
