Ams's global shutter image sensor

     Ams OSRAM's Mira220 Global shutter sensor. This family of sensors provides design engineers with 2D and 3D solutions suitable for industrial machine vision applications such as mobile facial recognition, smart home and appliance, QR scanners, AR/VR, drones, smart wearable devices, structured light vision and more.

     The Mira220 2.2MP Global Shutter image sensor supports external trigger, windowing, and on-chip operation such as horizontal or vertical mirroring with an effective resolution of 1600 (H) x 1400 (V), a maximum frame rate of 90fps, and a depth of 12 bits. The Mira220's advanced backlight (BSI) technology stacks sensor layers on top of digital/readout layers. This design enables chip-level packaging with a size of only 5.3mm by 5.3mm, giving manufacturers more freedom to optimize the design of space-constrained products such as smart glasses and VR headsets. Mira220 also has very high sensitivity and quantum efficiency, with a pixel size of 2.79μm and an optical format of 1/2.7 ".

     The Mira220 has very low power consumption, only 4 mW in sleep mode, 40 mW in idle mode, and 350mW at full resolution and 90fps. By offering low system power consumption, the Mira220 allows wearable and portable device makers to use smaller batteries to save space or extend battery life. The ams OSRAM Mira220 sensor uses the MIPI CSI-2 interface for easy connection to the processor or FPGA. The sensor can also be easily configured by accessing the on-chip registers through the I2C interface.
