Artesyn Embedded Technologies announces the launch of a new high-performance VME single-board computer

     Artesyn Embedded Technologies has announced the introduction of a new high-performance VME single-board computer, the MVME8105, enabling high-end products such as industrial equipment control systems, automated command systems (C4ISR), and mission-critical applications to take full advantage of their computing capabilities. It can also support higher data bandwidth and enjoy a longer life cycle. For more than 30 years, ATsen's VME products have been used in semiconductor production equipment (SPE), lithography, radar, sonar and train control systems.

     However, in practical applications, these systems often have to rely on backward-compatible technology, so it often takes a long time from research and development to formal deployment. Artesyn Embedded Technologies has made a commitment that it will continue to provide a steady supply of VME products through 2025. At the same time, the company will continue to develop the next generation of VME products in order to provide customers with more choice, greater flexibility in developing new products, and greater peace of mind to use this trusted technology.

     The MVME8105 single-board computer is equipped with a Freescale QorIQ™ P5020 processor at 2.0 GHz. It also comes with 4GB patch welded DDR3-1333MHz ECC memory, 512K MRAM non-volatile memory, and 8GB eMMC NAND flash. In addition, the single-board computer comes with multiple interfaces, such as USB, serial and Ethernet, and can support a variety of operating systems, including Wind River's VxWorks, Linux and Green Hills' Integrity.
