Dialog's latest Bluetooth Low power SoCs offer unmatched integration and flexibility

     Dialog Semiconductor, a provider of highly integrated power management, AC/DC power conversion, solid-state lighting (SSL) and Bluetooth low energy technologies, Introduces SmartBond™ DA14681, the world's most integrated single-chip solution for connectivity of rechargeable devices for wearables, smart homes, and other emerging Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

     As part of Dialog's SmartBond family, the DA14681 balances performance and power efficiency intelligently, delivering high processing performance of up to 96 MHz from its ARM® Cortex™ M0 processor when needed and saving power when not needed, with standby power consumption of less than 1µA. This makes it ideal for managing multi-sensor arrays with always-on sensing functions.

     This highly integrated solution supports the latest Bluetooth 4.2 standard, and its integrated power management Unit (PMU) provides three separate power rails to power more external system components in addition to efficiently powering an on-chip charger and meter, as well as the ability to charge the battery via USB. Its unique architecture is capable of powering a complete iot system without the need for additional external power management circuitry.

     The DA14681 is the second member of this product family, the first being the popular ultra-low power DA14680. In addition to the capabilities of the DA14680, the DA14681 offers unparalleled flexibility, providing software application developers with virtually unlimited compute space, enabling them to expand their code execution space through a flexible external memory interface. It can execute code from external flash or OTP memory for maximum design freedom and can expand the execution space depending on the application. To complete the product, Dialog's SoC also comes with bank-level security, equipped with a dedicated hardware encryption engine to keep personal information secure and enable end-to-end application encryption.
