Honeywell will help decarbonize the U.S. Virgin Islands with battery energy storage systems

     Honeywell made the announcement that it will hand over its first batch of battery energy storage systems (BESS) to VIElectron, a CB Loranger Company. These BESS will be distributed to six solar parks that are strategically located throughout the United States Virgin Islands. As soon as they are finished, the solar array and BESS will satisfy thirty percent of the islands’ energy consumption through renewable sources, which will help the islands’ attempts to reduce their carbon footprint.

     According to what Honeywell has stated, the company is dedicated to assisting its clients in accomplishing their energy targets and decarbonization objectives. A good example of how sustainable technologies are helping to lower the cost of energy for people in the United States Virgin Islands and all around the world is the renewable energy project that is now being implemented.

     VIElectron will be able to deploy solar panels across the islands of St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John thanks to the solution, which will also help to smooth out the energy peaks and valleys that can be caused by solar power.

     A battery management system that is end-to-end and gives improved energy controls along with an integrated safety system will be included in the 124 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS). The United States Virgin Islands will be able to forecast and optimize energy usage and prices with the help of these skills, which will ultimately result in the provision of more inexpensive and environmentally friendly electricity to the population of the territory through the 140 MW DC solar arrays.
