Infineon's MA2304DNS/MA2304PNS audio amplifier's low standby power consumption extends battery life

Infineon's MA2304DNS/MA2304PNS is a 2 x 37 W audio amplifier family that uses MERUS multilevel switching amplifier technology to achieve excellent efficiency at both low and high output power. Multilevel switches relax EMC requirements and enable inductorless applications at a lower cost. A high order internal feedback loop ensures low THD and high PSRR for excellent audio performance.

The integrated DSP in the MA2304DNS is highly configurable and can be used to correct defects in real speaker applications such as equalization, limiting, etc. The MA2304PNS provides simpler volume control and limiter for systems that apply/connect processors for audio processing.

The MA2304DNS/MA2304PNS features ultra-low standby power consumption, extended battery life, reduced battery cost, or both, making it ideal for battery-powered speaker applications. Compared to the previous generation of devices, 90 percent of the standby current consumption is improved. EMI can be reduced in multi-channel applications powered by the mains, with scalable EMI performance, enabling industrial design without radiators.
