Its first commercial product, the SymCool power module

     Ideal Power has launched its first commercial product, the SymCool power module. The multi-chip B-TRAN module has a voltage rating of 1200V 100A, including double-sided cooling. It was created to meet the very low conduction loss requirements of the solid state circuit breaker (SSCB) market. Modules can be paralleled to achieve a variety of high-power SSCB grades for utility, industrial and defense applications.

"The SymCool power module is specifically designed to deliver extremely low conduction losses for SSCBS. B-trans-enabled SSCBS are expected to be smaller and more efficient than those using conventional semiconductor switches, while operating several orders of magnitude faster than conventional electromechanical circuit breakers.
