Mediatek launches high-precision positioning Global satellite navigation System solutions for automotive and industrial applications

     Mediatek announced the launch of MT3303, a high-precision positioning global satellite navigation system solution for automotive and industrial applications. The solution integrates GNSS and memory chips to support four global satellite navigation system specifications: GPS, Glonass, Galileo and China Beidou. The MT3303 is currently certified for Automotive electronics AEC-Q100 (Stress Test Standard for Automotive Integrated Circuits), which will be completed in the first quarter of this year.

     With an energy-efficient stand-alone ARM processor and 8MB flash memory (expandable up to 128MB via external memory), the MT3303 is a highly integrated all-in-one positioning solution. The MT3303 is packaged in a 5-ball VFBGA package with a board area of only 4.3 square millimeters and can withstand temperatures ranging from minus 40 degrees Celsius to above 85 degrees Celsius, which can meet industrial application requirements and is particularly suitable for a variety of automotive applications and asset tracking of sensitive cargo.

     The MT3303 uses high-precision 10Hz technology, with industry-leading high accuracy, even in high-speed moving dynamic scenarios, such as driving a car, can achieve high-precision positioning, and has high sensitivity, especially in built-up areas. In addition, MT3303 can also give full play to the advantages of Beidou, with Beidou satellite enhanced data and ground high-precision base station ground enhancement system, can easily achieve sub-meter level positioning in a interfere-free environment, so that navigation or fleet tracking are more accurate.

     The MT3303 features three smart power modes that save power while maintaining high accuracy in a variety of scenarios. The low-power mode is suitable for slower dynamic scenarios, such as cargo tracking or logistics tracking, with power savings of up to 70% compared to applications such as in-vehicle navigation and ambulances, which require high accuracy and fast positioning at all times. Another intermittent mode further reduces power consumption when applications such as vehicle anti-theft tracking or alarm systems are on or off.

     On the software side, the MT3303 relies on proven GNSS firmware to provide advanced features such as anti-spoofing and human interference detection. Our software technology ensures fast first location time (TTFF) even in areas with weak satellite signals, both online and offline, providing a quality experience in near real time that meets end user expectations.
