Murata's LBAD0ZZ1SE-743 cellular terminal equipment features highly integrated (MCU, eSIM and LTE-M/NB1 modem), certified terminal equipment with antenna connectivity for easy integration with many different types of applications. The technology is used for iot devices to connect directly to a 4G network without a gateway and typically run on battery power.
LTE-M includes eMTC (Enhanced Machine-Type Communications), a low power Wide area network (LPWAN) radio technology standard developed by 3GPP that enables a wide range of cellular devices and services (especially machine-to-machine and iot applications). Since no carrier or regulatory certification is required, this ultra-small, highly integrated terminal device speeds time to market. The ultimate benefit is shorter development times and faster time to market for terminal devices that require LTE Cat M1 connectivity.
Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) is a standards-based low power wide area (LPWA) technology designed to support a wide range of iot devices and services. NB-IoT has significantly improved the power consumption, system capacity, and spectral efficiency of user devices, especially in terms of deep coverage.
