New SMT Slender circular connector in M12 format with standard footprint
Provertha has expanded its SMT solution portfolio for PCB connectivity with the Slimline M12 connector family. Thanks to its ultra-thin design, robust spring-elastic contact design, and compatibility with circular connectors from other manufacturers, the new connector is impressive. Connectors for PCB mounting are available in two versions: unshielded or shielded one-piece shielded clips using SMT connection technology.
Due to the spring elastic contact and the expanded welded surface connection to the contact, these connectors are at least 30% more resistant to SMT connection breakage under high mechanical stress compared to standard M12 SMT connectors on the market. Their standard market footprint makes them compatible with the most commonly used SMT circular connectors, and they can easily be used as replacements without changing the PCB layout design.
M12 Slimline products can be used flexibly thanks to selectable coding (A, B, and D) - for example, for sensor actuator applications in industrial automation, industrial Ethernet networks, and miniaturized applications exposed to high stresses.
The Slimline female version has a special contact design for high functional reliability under mechanical loads, with heights of 17mm and 18mm. The compact design makes the connector ideal for applications where installation space is limited. Another component of miniaturization is the specially designed tight arrangement of the new tamper-proof M12 mounting housing, which allows for push-pull or screw locking.
IP67 connectors have very good technical characteristics, such as a wide temperature range from -40 ° C to +125 ° C and high current carrying capacity. The new connector is a high temperature resistant, high-performance thermoplastic with high tracking resistance. CTI value greater than 600.
All M12 SMT Slimline connectors are designed for reliable machinability in fully automated SMT processes, thanks to heat-resistant pick-up and placement of suction cups and tape reel packaging. The narrow tape allows the connector to be placed on the feeder of the patch machine and takes up minimal space.
The new PCB connector solution in M12 format complements high-performance D-Sub connectors for PCB applications (TMC products). They can be quickly and specifically adapted to the company's modular systems.
