Powerbox's packaged power supply for industrial system integration

     Powerbox introduces a 100W packaged AC/DC power supply for industrial system integration. For compact industrial systems with limited space, the ENI100 has a length and width of only 31.7mm*140mm, making it usable in even the smallest Spaces. The input voltage range of the unit is 90 to 264VAC and the output is fixed at 24V/ 4A. Based on Powerbox's flyback topology and proprietary "always on" regulation mode, the power supply intelligently "self-controls" its output characteristics to ensure continuous operation and rapid recovery in case of load or temperature failure. ENI100 is CB certified according to EN60950-1.

     Industrial system integrators typically require small, compact power supplies that can operate in very specific environments, such as high electric fields with arc radiation, and are easy to install, providing a local safe voltage of 24VDC to electronic devices. In this case, the metal parts were allowed to remain unexposed, and the result was a plastic housing with crimp terminals that had no physical connection between the internal radiator and the host equipment rack. To optimize cooling, the ENI100 includes an internal heat sink that distributes heat to minimized hot spots while minimizing the contact area with the plastic housing.

     Powerbox's ENI100-5138 power supply has a rated input of 100 to 240VAC, although it can operate between a small derated 90 and 264VAC. Factory adjusted output voltage is 24VDC and output current is 4A. Current limits operating in "always on" mode protect the output from overcurrent and short circuit damage, ensuring that the unit will always return to full operation when output faults are eliminated. The Powerbox's "always on" technology also adjusts the available output power while monitoring the device's internal temperature to keep it in a safe zone.

     For safety reasons, the ENI100 has a leakage current of less than 100μA, which is very low for industrial products and meets insulation Class I (double insulation between input and output). ENI100 complies with IEC 60950-1 safety standards and conforms to UL508 standards. The power supply is CB certified according to IEC 60950-1 and complies with the relevant EMC standards and Grade B. In its range of applications, the ENI100 can be exposed to electric arcs and is proven to comply with ESD sensitivity IEC61000-4-2 +/ -6kV contact discharge and +/ -8kV air discharge.

     In order to enable the ENI100 to be installed outdoors or exposed to moisture (5 to 95% condensation free), the ENI100 is designed to meet the requirements of Protection Class 54 (IP54). Input and output cables are fixed to crimp terminals for easy connection. The power supply measures 142mm x 31.70mm(5.60 x 1.25 inches) and 54mm(2.12 inches) in height. Attention to detail, the base of the ENI100 has oval mounting holes for quick installation.

     At 230VAC input voltage, an ambient temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and an output load of 70%, the ENI100 has an expected minimum service life of 80,000 hours. The typical efficiency of the power supply at full load is 90%, the low-voltage line voltage at no load is 110VAC, and the input power is only 300mW. Output 12VDC / 8A is available, other output voltages are available upon request, and the product complies with RoHS II and REACH standards.
