STMicroelectronics STM32F4 High-performance microcontrollers add a basic product line, including a new 125°C product

     STMicroelectronics' high performance STM32F4 microcontroller (MCU) family adds entry level products, introduces new products with greater storage capacity and more features, and the first STM32F4 microcontroller with operating temperatures up to 125°C. At the same time, the newly upgraded Quickstart kit helps developers tap into new features.

     The new STM32F412 and high-temperature STM32F410 microcontrollers give designers more choice in an affordable, basic product line. Integrated 84MHz(STM32F401 product line) and 100MHz (STM32F410/F411/F412 product line) ARM® Cortex-M4 processor core, 128KB-1MB flash memory and up to 256KB RAM. The basic product line can be easily extended to the STM32F4 Basic product line and the] premium product line.

     The STM32F412 is equipped with a high-performance memory interface to connect the off-chip memory via a dual-mode 100MHz four-wire SPI. The Flexible Storage Controller (FMC) supports static memory for efficient expansion of on-chip 1MB flash memory and 256KB RAM. Added LCD display parallel port can manage 16-bit color depth QVGA display or 8-bit color depth WQVGA display; The internal true random number generator (TRNG) enhances the performance of security algorithms such as encryption algorithms. In addition, link power management (LPM) and dual voltage rails are added to USB OTG ports in the existing base model product line, which eliminates level converters for designers and saves board space.

     The STM32F410 marks the beginning of a new product layout for ST, which will eventually allow the basic STM32F4 to operate at 125°C across its entire line. Like the other base product lines, the STM32F410 and STM32F412 both support Direct Memory access (DMA) data batch mode (BAM), which directly captures data without waking up the CPU, which helps power-sensitive applications save power, and four low-power microphone channels are equipped with digital filters. It is used to efficiently process speech recognition algorithms, reducing power consumption and CPU load.

     While upgrading the basic model product line to meet the growing needs of customers, ST has also added support for the STM32F412 Discovery Suite (STM32F412G-DISCO). New 1.54-inch color LCD touch screen further simplifies HMI development, on-board digital interface MEMS stereo microphone, I2S codec, headset, microphone, speaker interface, Arduino™ Uno expansion connector. In addition, ST offers a low-cost STM32 Nucleo development board (Nucleo-F412ZG) with a 144-pin STM32F412ZG microcontroller.
