Texas Instruments' four-channel low-voltage amplifier is an LED driver
The Texas Instruments OPA4310 is a four-channel low-voltage (1.5V to 5.5V) high-output current op-amp with rail-to-rail input-output (RRIO) swing. The OPA4310S also has a very fast shutdown response and a (typical) enabling time of 0.9µs, saving power when applications involve load cycling in the amplifier's signal chain.
The amplifier has reliable ESD performance with a fail-safe input ESD structure where no diode is connected from the input to the positive power track. The OPA4310 is available with power pads in standard and small size package variants. Internal current limiting and thermal shutdown protection give it additional robustness when operating under high output current.
The OPA4310 can swing very close to the guide rail and has a 75 mA(minimum) short-circuit current in the temperature range of a 5.5V power supply. Additional output current capability can be achieved by carefully paralleling multiple operational amplifiers. The OPA4310 device is an excellent choice for LED driver, LCD driver, laser driver and TEC driver applications. It can also be used as a reference buffer, protection amplifier or discrete LDO.
Robust design simplifies circuit design. Operational amplifiers have integrated RFI and EMI suppression filters with no phase inversion under input overdrive conditions. The operational amplifier provides excellent AC performance with a gain bandwidth of 3 MHz and can drive cap loads of up to 250 pF with no sustained oscillations, enabling designers to achieve better performance and lower power consumption.
