The first ready-made convection cooled cf rated standard power supply

     Advanced Energy has released the NCF150 series of high isolation, low leakage current AC/DC power supplies that enable medical device designers to meet the CF requirements of the IEC 60601-1 medical safety standard with off-the-shelf products. The power supply accepts universal inputs from 85VAC to 264VAC, has a full load efficiency greater than 90%, and has overvoltage, overload, overtemperature short-circuit protection as standard. This is the first version of the CF-class series, with higher power models to follow.

     The CF type is the strictest medical electrical safety classification and is critical for medical products that may come into direct contact with the heart, including dialysis machines, heart-related systems, and electrosurgical platforms. With the introduction of the CF-rated AC/DC power supply family, the company now offers standard, compact products that combine the performance and reliability required for complex medical systems with the high isolation voltage and low leakage current essential for CF certification.

Now, with the introduction of the NCF150 series, Advanced Energy is helping medical Oems reduce the system-level components required for isolation, minimizing overall system size and cost, and accelerating time to market."

     The company's SL NCF150 series offers a maximum output power of up to 150W and offers voltages of 12V, 15V, 19V, 24V and 48V. An optional 5V standby and 12V fan output are also available. All devices in the SL NCF150 series have a patient leak current of less than 10mA and have EMI Class B, 2 MOPP isolation and 5kV defibrillator pulse tolerance.
