U-blox has teamed up with Atoll Solutions to provide easy-to-use LPWA technology for smart cities in India

     U-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, and Atoll Solutions, an industry-leading provider of IoT gateway platforms, sensor nodes and wireless modules, announced that Launch of the IoT starter kit based on u-blox's LTE Cat M1 and narrowband IoT(NB-IoT) modules.

     With the development of a comprehensive smart city program, India's infrastructure is shifting towards low power Wide Area (LPWA) technology for applications such as smart street lights and smart meters. This starter design kit will provide the ideal development platform for LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT based nodes and gateways.

     This starter design kit supports both u-blox's NB-IoT (LTE Cat NB1) SARA-N2 and LTE Cat M1/NB1 SARA-R4 modules, accelerating the development of IoT solutions and enabling immediate deployment in smart grids. The suite will be further expanded to a full reference design in the future, with other u-blox solutions including Bluetooth Low Energy and GNSS modules.
